Why we do this
Behind every headstone stands a person and their story. When there is no family nearby or nobody remembers the burial, monuments fall apart, inscriptions fade, and memory disappears with them. We do not want oblivion to have the last word. Remembrance should be a shared effort, not something that depends on whether a person has a family.
